75 Hard: The Challenge, The Support, and Rediscovering Purpose🌸

Share this post:

Early in 2024, I started the 75 Hard challenge seeking purpose. What followed wasn’t just physical change – it reshaped my entire mindset and revealed powerful lessons about community, systems, and healing.

As a coach specializing in helping women build sustainable rest through operational systems, this challenge put my core principles to the ultimate test. It raised profound questions about authenticity and practice: How could I genuinely advocate for balance while pushing my limits? Could I demonstrate that growth and peace aren’t mutually exclusive?

This journey became more than just a personal challenge – it evolved into a powerful testament to my life’s mission with Bloomify & Grow. Through my experiences, I discovered deeper insights into teaching women how to reclaim their rest and create lasting balance. The challenge became a living laboratory for the principles I teach, proving that with the right approach, we can pursue ambitious goals while honoring our need for restoration.

This challenge was not a straight path for me. It was filled with restarts, realizations, and remarkable healing. Let me take you through how I approached it, what I discovered, and how you, too, can build sustainable discipline and find healing through consistent, personalized actions.

Starting at a Difficult Time

When I began the 75 Hard Challenge, I was in a tough spot in life. I felt disconnected from my goals, weighed down by self-doubt, and out of alignment with my aspirations. My mind and body wanted change, but my spirit wasn’t ready to sustain it.

Scrolling through social media, I came across a woman tackling a variation of the challenge. Watching her determination sparked something in me. I took the leap, but my first attempt was far from successful. I fell off track within a few days. And you know what? That’s okay. I learned that every stumble was an opportunity to restart and grow stronger.

The Power of Restarting

I restarted this challenge at least 10 times. Each restart taught me something valuable. Instead of focusing on perfection, I shifted my mindset to prioritize consistency in one area at a time:

  • Learning a new language, even if I skipped workouts.
  • Reading 10 pages a day, even when my nutrition wasn’t perfect.
  • Prioritizing the gym but giving myself grace on other goals.

These small victories built a foundation for lasting change. Consistency in one habit often snowballed into greater progress across the board.

Discipline Looks Different for Everyone

The 75 Hard Challenge isn’t about checking off boxes; it’s about discovering what discipline means to you. For me, discipline was synonymous with showing up consistently in ways that mattered most.

One of the most important lessons I learned was to seek support. Whether it was a therapist, wellness coach, or trusted friend, having someone to process my experiences with made all the difference. The emotional weight of growth can be heavy, and having a safe space to reflect helped me stay on course.

Teaching Rest Through Systems

This challenge deeply reflected my work with Bloomify & Grow, where my mission is to help women—especially Black women—reclaim rest through operational systems.

Rest is revolutionary, yet elusive in a world that glorifies burnout. Through my business, I show women how to create balance and sustainability in their lives by leveraging efficient systems. From streamlining workdays to setting up financial check-ins and personal growth practices, these strategies aren’t just for businesses—they’re tools for empowered living.

Practicing what I preach wasn’t easy during 75 Hard. Balancing my ambitions with the relentless structure of the challenge pushed me to reevaluate my systems and find new ways to create space for both growth and rest.

Learning Two Languages: A Lesson in Humility

Taking on French and Italian during this challenge was bold—maybe even overly ambitious. Every conjugation and vocabulary word reminded me that growth is rarely linear.

Learning two languages stretched my mind and taught me resilience. Some days, I made incredible progress. Other days, I struggled to form a simple sentence. But each step, no matter how small, brought me closer to my goal.

Turning Reading Into Action

One requirement of 75 Hard is reading 10 pages of a nonfiction book every day. I didn’t just want to skim through those pages—I wanted to live the principles I read about.

For me, reading wasn’t about consumption; it was about transformation. I committed to applying what I learned immediately, whether it was a mindset shift, a tactical business strategy, or a new daily habit. This approach turned every book into a tool for personal and professional growth.

The Struggles and Wins of Growth

Juggling Bloomify & Grow, language learning, and 75 Hard was no easy feat. There were days when the challenge felt like a burden instead of an opportunity. Balancing my business operations and personal commitments often felt overwhelming.

But through every struggle, I found strength. Whether it was designing rest systems for my clients, mastering a tricky verb in Italian, or squeezing in a second workout during a rainstorm, I showed up.

And the wins were worth it:

  • I lost 40 pounds.
  • I read 8 to 9 books in a year.
  • I advanced in French and Italian, enough to now work with a tutor.
  • I established consistent gym habits and hired a trainer.
  • I shifted my mindset and prioritized my well-being.

Lessons Learned

As I near the end of 75 Hard, I’ve realized this challenge isn’t about perfection—it’s about persistence. Here are some key lessons:

  1. Rest Is Not a Reward, It’s a Right Building systems that prioritize rest is revolutionary. Whether for myself or my clients, creating space to rest has been one of the most valuable lessons of this journey.
  2. Commitment Shapes You Taking on two languages, implementing lessons, and running a business wasn’t easy, but it was worth it. Growth comes from committing fully, even when it’s uncomfortable.
  3. Small Actions Lead to Big Changes Progress is the result of small, consistent actions, whether it’s learning one word, reading one page, or creating one system.
  4. Resilience Is a Muscle Just like those outdoor workouts on freezing mornings, resilience grows stronger the more you use it.

What’s Next

As 75 Hard comes to a close, I feel stronger, more disciplined, and more focused than ever. This challenge showed me that I can handle the hard things—whether it’s creating a business rooted in empowerment, mastering new skills, or showing up for myself day after day.

My mission with Bloomify & Grow continues: helping women reclaim their rest, thrive in their lives, and prove to themselves that they can handle the hard things, too.

To anyone on a similar journey: You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to keep going. Growth is waiting on the other side of discomfort.

Here’s to rest, resilience, and never giving up.
